Field Day 2016

Fields Day activities will take place on  Thursday, June 9th  with a rain date of  June 10th .  The third and fourth grade field day will take place in the morning from  9:00-11:00  and field day for the first and second grade will begin at  12:00  and end at  2:00 . Parent Volunteers are still needed for this event to run successfully.  Please sign up at  this link  if you are interested.

Drums Alive - 3rd Grade Artist in Residence

Our Third grade students will participate in a Drums Alive residency, through artist Peg Keeler, from 5/31-6/6.  Drums Alive is a whole body-mind experience that combines the dynamic movements of fitness and dance with music, drumming and rhythm that fosters and improves health and overall well-being in individuals.  Drums alive unites individuals from all walks of life, abilities and backgrounds using rhythm, aerobic, moves, fundamental movement and fitness skill, drum sticks, stability balls and fun.

On Monday, Peter Woodbury participated in a Breakout EDU activity created by Mrs. Speaker and Mrs. Cassamassino.   A Breakout EDU session allows the students to engage in an activity that combines group work, collaborative thinking, problem solving in multiple curriculum areas. The students are asked to solve a series of problems to open locks to get additional clues to solve a final puzzle.  The Breakout ended with Mrs. Daley being slimed.

Destination Imagination Shoes, Bags & Belt Drive

Destination Imagination - Shoes, Bags & Belt Drive until  May 15th   Bedford DI are having a special drive through Ecosmith Recyclers.  From now until  May 15th , you can donate all your old shoes, bags and belts (any condition) in the marked boxes in our school lobby.  This is a great way to get your spring cleaning under way, while helping raise funds for the Lurgio team heading to Global Finals in Knoxville, TN.  Remember, clothing, fabrics and stuffed animals can always be donated in the bin in the parking lot.  We appreciate your support.

Kindergarten and 1st Grade Parent Information Sessions

Kindergarten Information Session If you have an incoming kindergartener, please join us on June 3, 2016 from 9:00-10:00 am. You may bring your child, but it is not mandatory. First Grade Information Session If you have an incoming first grader, then you and your child are invited to attend an orientation at PWS on June 1 from 9:00-10:30 am. If your child is a current PWS kindergarten student, he/she does not need to attend. 

4th to 5th Grade Parent Night

4th to 5th Parent Night  -  IMPORTANT All parents of 4th grade students are invited to attend a Parent Information Night on  Wednesday,  May 25th  at McKelvie Intermediate School.  Click  here  for details.

Spring Box Tops Contest!

BoxTops Program Update: Spring Box Tops Classroom Contest! We are holding a special collection contest over the next month - the classroom that brings in the most Box Tops by Monday, May 16 , will receive a special prize!  The 2015-2016 year totals and the spring drive’s winning classroom will be announced in June. In addition, we ask for your support in entering the current raffles online at http://www.boxtops4education.com/earn/sweepstakes - anyone can enter the raffle for our school once a day until the raffles close in a month. Who knows? Maybe we will win!
