Summer Reading Incentive Program

Mrs. Leyden (PWS Reading Specialist) is excited to offer a school wide summer reading incentive program.  Here is a link to the reading passages for your child to read over the summer!  Please choose the grade level that your child is going into.  The passages are short and interesting with rich vocabulary that will keep your child engaged.   Simply enjoy spending some time with your child as he/she reads and responds to each passage.  Have your child return their reading responses to Mrs. Leyden at the start of the school year to receive a small prize! In order to access the passages, you may log in with username and password pws03110 until August, 19, 2016.
Also, if you are looking for suggested books for your child to read over the summer, you can find a reading list here.

Accessing Report Cards Online

As we shared back in March, the district is moving to online report cards. This means students will not be bringing home a paper copy of their report card anymore. Instead, you will use your PowerSchool Parent Portal account to view your child's report card and comments.
Accessing the report card in you portal account is very easy and directions can be found here.
If you do not already have a PowerSchool Parent Portal account, the main office can provide you with the information you need to do this. Once your account is setup, you will continue to use this same account each year to access your child’s information.

Drums Alive Performance

Thanks to funding from PTG and organization by Mrs. Curran and Mrs. Ference, our third grade students participated in a five day DrumsAlive residency.  DrumsAlive is a whole body-mind experience that combines the dynamic movements of fitness and dance with music, drumming and rhythm that fosters and improves health and overall well-being in individuals.

Yesterday, the third graders had the chance to show off their newly learned skills in an all school performance.  Students did an amazing job!!  You can find video clips here
