Congratulations Destination Imagination

Image
Last weekend many of our students participated in the Destination Imagination regional tournament held at Goffstown High School. We are excited to say two of our teams placed high enough to move on to the DI State Tournament held on April 7th at Bedford High School. Congratulations to Team Emoji and The Pioneers of Treasure. Speaking of DI, a special congratulations goes out to PWS’s own Aaria Ahdi whose pin design received more than 10,000 votes from 14 different countries. Aaria’s design will be made into a pin that will be available at the Destination Imagination Global Tournament. Here is her winning design:

Jump Rope for Heart 2018

IT TAKES HEART TO BE A HERO!   The Jump Rope for Heart event kicked off this week in Physical Education class with a video about a Heart Hero, Camden, who is 8 years old and was born with a heart condition. Thanks to the kids who have raised donations for the American Heart Association in the past Camden was able to have surgery to help her heart.   This week in Physical Education class students have discussed heart disease to help students understand why they are raising money for the American Heart Association.  We also hosted the Hip Hoppin’ Hawks jump rope team who performed for us after discussing why we choose heart healthy habits to live healthy lives. Collection envelopes are going home this week March 5th-9th and must be returned by Friday, March 30th.   Online fundraising is much easier and more efficient since students don't have to remember to hand in money. Mrs. Ferenc has encouraged the students to register online and sign up to choose a healthy heart
