Jump Rope for Heart 2018

IT TAKES HEART TO BE A HERO!

The Jump Rope for Heart event kicked off this week in Physical Education class with a video about a Heart Hero, Camden, who is 8 years old and was born with a heart condition. Thanks to the kids who have raised donations for the American Heart Association in the past Camden was able to have surgery to help her heart.

This week in Physical Education class students have discussed heart disease to help students understand why they are raising money for the American Heart Association.  We also hosted the Hip Hoppin’ Hawks jump rope team who performed for us after discussing why we choose heart healthy habits to live healthy lives.

Collection envelopes are going home this week March 5th-9th and must be returned by Friday, March 30th.

Online fundraising is much easier and more efficient since students don't have to remember to hand in money. Mrs. Ferenc has encouraged the students to register online and sign up to choose a healthy heart challenge and earn a free glow scare squad wristband.  Make a web page by visiting www.heart.org/jump and search for Peter Woodbury Elementary School using city and state. Join our school's team and set up your own web page. You can then email the link to family and friends.

Have your child return their coupon to Mrs. Ferenc next week so she knows that your child has raised at least $5 in donations for Jump Rope For Heart or get your first donation online to earn your first monster.  For more information, please contact Mrs. Ferenc at ferencj@sau25.net.
